The C2 is a single piece of folded brushed aluminium: a base, a back support, and a front lip with a cutout for a cable. Silicone pads sit on the base and the lip. It is heavier than it looks, which is the point — the mass is in the base, so a phone leaning back in landscape does not pull it over. Fit and finish are well above the price.
There is no setup. Set it on a desk, lean the phone against the back support with the bottom edge in the front lip, and route a charging cable through the cutout if you want one. It holds a phone with or without a case, in portrait or landscape.
As a desk stand it does everything asked of it: steady for video calls, steady for watching, steady enough to tap the screen without the stand walking across the desk.
