It’s a spring-loaded cradle on a telescopic arm, sitting on a suction base. The cradle is the strong part. The trigger action is crisp, the arms grip a phone in its case firmly, and the release button is easy to find without looking.
The base is where owner reports turn. On smooth, cool glass it holds for months. On a textured or sun-baked dashboard it lets go, and the adhesive pad in the box is the semi-permanent fix.
