A sprung plastic clamp forms the base; a short arm with a multi-axis ball joint carries a small spring-armed cradle. It clips onto a dashboard lip, a mirror stalk or a visor. The plastics are light and the clamp spring is firm but not reassuring — this is a mount that feels like its price.
Clip it onto an edge, angle the ball joint, and you are done — no adhesive, no cleaning, no residue when you remove it. Getting the phone in is the friction: you pull the cradle arms apart and hold them while you seat the phone, then let them close. That is a two-hand job, which is not ideal in a moving car.
On a firm dashboard edge the clamp holds and the ball joint keeps the phone where you set it, including a landscape angle for maps. On bumpy roads the light build lets the phone jiggle more than a heavier mount. The tight cradle is the recurring complaint: a phone in a chunky case can be a struggle, and the 3.9-star average reflects that not every owner gets a good fit.

The JunDa, YAOKEEP and FONKEN clip mounts are the same product under different names; if you want this type, buy the cheapest.
