Wireless chargers are sold on a single number, and that number is usually the one thing you cannot rely on. A pad advertised at 10W gives an iPhone 7.5W. A 25W station gives you 25W only if you own a recent iPhone on a recent iOS. A 15W puck gives you 15W only if you separately buy the right brick. We went through this category looking at what each charger actually delivers to an actual iPhone, and what it really costs once you add the parts that are not in the box. Five came out worth buying — and the best one is also the cheapest.

Every charger here has its own full review on this site, scored across five aspects — design, value, performance, build and durability, and compatibility and ease of use — with the overall score being the straight average of the five. For this category we paid particular attention to the gap between rated and delivered wattage, and to what is missing from the box, because those two things move the real cost and the real speed more than anything on the spec sheet. Figures attributed to a brand are that brand’s published claims, not numbers we measured; where a brand publishes nothing, we say so.

The cheapest, most essential item on this list. If you only buy one charger, buy this one — it’s the fast-charge brick every other pick on this list plugs into, at the highest owner rating of the group.

The simplest MagSafe option and still one of the most reliable. No frills — just a strong, centered magnetic snap and Apple’s own fast-charge spec.

The pick for a nightstand setup. Charges phone, watch, and earbuds at once with a magnetic connection owners describe as noticeably stronger than cheaper 3-in-1 stations.

The premium option. Owners call it one of their best purchases — fast charging speed, solid build quality, and a magnetic hold strong enough to keep phones secure overnight.

The budget pick. A flat pad rather than MagSafe, but owners say it’s easy to use and a genuinely good value.
Six things that separated these chargers, drawn from the specs and the owner feedback behind each review.
This is the single most useful thing to understand before buying any wireless charger, and it applies to four of the five picks here.
The Anker 313 is sold as a 10W pad. That 10W is what it delivers to supported Samsung phones; an iPhone gets 7.5W. Anker publishes both numbers, which is more honest than most, but the larger one is what goes on the box.
The Belkin is a 25W charger only if you own an iPhone 16 or newer running iOS 26 or later. On any older iPhone it delivers 15W — the same as the Anker MagGo that costs $58 less.
The Apple MagSafe puck is rated to 15W, but only when plugged into a 20W or larger adapter, and 25W only with a 30W adapter on an iPhone 16 or 17. Out of the box, plugged into whatever old brick is in your drawer, it may do considerably less.
The only figure on this page that means what it says without conditions is the Apple 20W adapter, because a wired connection has no coil alignment, no phone-model gate and no iOS requirement.
A wireless charger is not a complete product. It is a coil on a cable, and the cable has to plug into something.
The Apple MagSafe puck ships with a 2-metre captive cable and no brick. To get its rated 15W you need a 20W adapter; for 25W you need a 30W one. That turns a $39.99 puck into a $54.98 purchase at minimum.
The Anker 313 is worse in a quiet way: it ships with a micro-USB input cable in 2026, and needs a Quick Charge 2.0/3.0 adapter to reach even its rated speed. Realistically that is another $10–$15, taking a $18.99 pad to about $31.
The Anker MagGo includes a 40W adapter and a 5 ft cable. The Belkin includes a 45W adapter. Both work the moment they come out of the box, and both are cheaper than their sticker price implies once you account for what the others still need.

These names get used interchangeably in listings and they should not be.
Qi is the original standard: a coil, no magnets, align it yourself. That is the Anker 313, which is Qi-certified and explicitly neither Qi2 nor MagSafe.
MagSafe is Apple’s magnetic system. The magnets do the alignment, historically at up to 15W and up to 25W on recent iPhones with a large enough adapter.
Qi2 took Apple’s magnet ring and made it an open standard at 15W. The Anker MagGo is Qi2-certified and MagSafe-compatible — which is why it holds firmly and charges at 15W, not 25W.
Qi2 v2.2 raises the ceiling to 25W. The Belkin is the only charger on this page certified to it.
A listing that says “MagSafe compatible” is telling you the magnets line up. It is not promising you 15W, and it is certainly not promising 25W.
Across owner feedback the pattern is consistent, and it does not track price in the direction you would expect.
The Anker 313 draws a notable number of reports of dying after a few weeks. The Apple MagSafe puck draws a fair number of reports of failing after a month or two — at $40, from Apple. Even the Apple 20W adapter, which we scored 4.6, has a small share of owners reporting failures within a couple of months.
The two that show no comparable failure pattern are the Anker MagGo and the Belkin — the two most expensive picks. That is not a coincidence, and it is a large part of what the extra money is actually buying. A $19 pad replaced twice a year is not cheaper than a $72 dock that lasts.
The counterweight: both cheap picks come from brands with real returns processes, and Anker’s warranty is genuinely good.
Nobody compares chargers on warranty and it turns out to be one of the clearest separations on this list.
Apple gives one year on both the 20W adapter and the MagSafe puck. Anker gives 18 months on the 313 and 24 months on the MagGo. Belkin gives a limited warranty typically running two years, and adds a connected-equipment guarantee on much of this line — cover for the device being charged, not just the charger.
Set that against the reliability pattern above and the picture sharpens: the products most likely to fail carry the shortest cover, and the products least likely to fail carry the longest. Anker doubling its own warranty between the $19 pad and the $72 dock is a fairly direct statement about which one it expects to come back.
A pattern worth naming, because it limits every comparison you can make on paper.
Not one of these five publishes magnet strength. Not Apple on the MagSafe puck, not Anker on a Qi2-certified dock, not Belkin at $130. Magnetic hold is the single most-discussed property of a MagSafe charger in owner reviews and there is no number for it anywhere.
Dimensions and weight are nearly as thin: Anker publishes a weight for the MagGo (about 6.9 oz / 196 g) and a folded size, and everyone else lists N/A. Apple does not give dimensions for either of its products here.
What the brands do publish generously is charge-time claims — Apple’s 50% in 30 minutes, Belkin’s 25 minutes to 50%, Anker’s Watch figures. Those are useful, but note they are all manufacturer figures measured under conditions nobody specifies.
We left out car chargers and magnetic car mounts with charging built in, which are a different buying decision and are covered in our mounts guide. We also left out the very cheap unbranded 3-in-1 stations that fill the first page of search results: several are in our review index and none scored high enough to recommend, with charging that stops overnight being the common complaint. Power banks are a separate guide, since a battery you carry and a charger you plug into a wall are not competing purchases.
Because the rated figure is usually the pad’s best case on some other phone. The Anker 313 is advertised at 10W, which it delivers to supported Samsung handsets; iPhones get 7.5W from it. That is not the pad being faulty — it is the number on the box describing a different device than the one in your hand. Anker publishes both figures; most brands print only the larger one.
For three of these five, yes. The Apple MagSafe puck ships with a cable and no brick, and needs a 20W adapter for 15W or a 30W one for 25W. The Anker 313 ships with a micro-USB input cable and no adapter, and wants a Quick Charge brick to reach even 7.5W. The Anker MagGo (40W) and the Belkin (45W) both include an adapter. The Apple 20W adapter is, of course, the adapter.
Qi is the original wireless standard with no magnets — that is the Anker 313, which is Qi-certified but neither Qi2 nor MagSafe. MagSafe is Apple’s magnetic implementation, up to 15W historically and 25W on recent iPhones. Qi2 adopted Apple’s magnet ring as an open standard at 15W, which is what the Anker MagGo is certified to. Qi2 v2.2 raises that to 25W, and the Belkin is the only charger here certified to it.
Only if your phone can use it. The Belkin’s 25W applies to an iPhone 16 or newer running iOS 26 or later; on anything older it charges at 15W, the same as the $72 Anker. So the honest question is not whether 25W is better — it is whether you own a phone that can accept it. If not, you are paying $130 for a 15W dock.
Usually not, within limits. Anker rates the 313 to charge through cases up to about 5 mm, which covers most normal cases. What does block it is anything metal: a metal plate for a car mount, a pop-socket base, or a card in a wallet case. Magnetic chargers are more forgiving because the magnets pull the phone into alignment; a flat pad will happily sit there doing nothing if the coil drifts off-centre.
The cheap ones, on this evidence. The Anker 313 and the Apple MagSafe puck both draw a recurring minority of reports of failure within weeks or a couple of months, and even the Apple 20W adapter has a small share of them. The Anker MagGo and the Belkin show no comparable failure pattern in owner feedback — which is part of what the extra money buys.
Wired through the Apple 20W adapter is the benchmark: roughly 50% in 30 minutes. Belkin quotes about 25 minutes to 50% on an iPhone 16 at 25W wireless. A 15W MagSafe charger sits behind both, and the 7.5W Anker pad is roughly half that again — fine overnight, frustrating if you need a top-up before leaving the house.
