You only need a few accessories for new AirPods: a case cover that fits your exact model, the right ear tips if you have Pro 3, and a charger that suits your case. Here’s what to buy for each, and the one mistake that catches standard AirPods 5 owners.

AirPods 5 come in two versions that look almost the same. The AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case charges on Qi, MagSafe and Apple Watch chargers. The standard AirPods 5 charges by USB-C only. To tell them apart, look for a speaker grille on the bottom of the case. Only the wireless one has it.
This matters when you shop for a case. Lots of AirPods 5 covers are sold as “compatible with MagSafe” because they have magnets built in. On the standard model, those magnets only hold the case to a charger. They don’t make it charge. ESR’s own listing spells it out: wireless charging works only with the wireless-charging versions. If you have the standard AirPods 5, you don’t need a magnetic case or a wireless charger.

One note on that big rating count: Amazon pools it across ESR’s AirPods case family, including its Pro 3 version, so treat it as a brand-level signal rather than a count for this exact cover.
The elago Armor is a thick silicone cover with a ribbed texture and a metal carabiner. It’s grippier than a hard shell and good at absorbing knocks, and elago says it still supports wireless charging. The trade-off is the usual one for two-piece silicone covers. Some owners say the lid piece can work loose, and some find it bulky. elago includes adhesive for the lid, and it’s worth using.
Yes. Apple lists the same charging-case dimensions for AirPods 4 and AirPods 5: 46.2 × 50.1 × 21.2 mm. That’s why ESR and elago sell one cover for both. If you already own a good AirPods 4 cover, keep it.

Pro 3 needs a Pro 3-specific cover. Spigen’s listings, for example, offer Pro 2, Pro 3 and AirPods 4/5 as separate sizes. The Pro 3 case already charges on MagSafe and has a lanyard loop, so the real choice is how much bulk you’ll accept.
The Rugged Armor is a thin TPU shell with Spigen’s carbon-fibre-pattern panel and a carabiner. It adds very little size, and the cutouts line up with the light, speaker and USB-C port. Two things come up in buyer feedback. Some owners say the lid piece can slip off, and Spigen includes an extra adhesive strip for exactly that. Wireless charging works for most people but not on every stand. Amazon’s rating on this listing is shared with Spigen’s AirPods Pro 2 version.
The Lock Fit adds a sliding lock clip, so the lid can’t spring open if it falls or gets squeezed in a bag. It has a hard PC inner shell, a TPU outer and a carabiner. Buyers rate the protection highly. On the downside, it’s noticeably heavier and bulkier than the Rugged Armor, which matters on a keyring, and a few owners report the latch not closing cleanly.

If you already charge an iPhone and an Apple Watch every night, a 3-in-1 stand is the tidiest upgrade. The Anker MagGo 3-in-1 scored 4.4 in our review. AirPods Pro 3 don’t come with a cable. Any USB-C cable works. If you need one, the Anker 240W USB-C cable 2-pack covers your phone and earbuds. Earbuds charge at low power, so there’s no reason to buy a high-wattage charger just for AirPods.
Skip the metal-pick cleaning kits. Follow Apple’s cleaning instructions for your model. Use a dry cotton swab and a soft, dry, lint-free cloth, keep liquids out of the openings, and on Pro 3 take the tips off to rinse them with water only. Let everything dry fully before you put the buds back in the case.
