The Apple Watch could have an important supporting role at the September 9 event. Macworld’s August 31 guide expects Series 12 and Ultra 4, while treating a major Series redesign as unlikely. Its reporting also raises the possibility of a ceramic case returning.
The material rumor
Macworld cites Bloomberg reporting that Apple has tested white and dark gray ceramic versions. Testing a finish does not establish that it will be sold, or at what price. The photo here is of Series 11 and should not be read as a view of the next model.

The same guide discusses a possible processor update and testing of more continuous heart-rate data collection. It leaves the final chip name open. 9to5Mac’s September 3 preview also lists updated Watch models among the expected announcements. Specific sensor capabilities and shipping features remain unconfirmed.
