ESR Classic Hybrid with Stash Stand Review (Galaxy S26 Ultra): MagSafe Magnets and a Kickstand for Samsung

4.0 · Would Buy
TINY TECH BOX SCORE

The Galaxy S26 Ultra supports Qi2 charging, but it has no magnets of its own. That job falls to the case.

ESR’s Classic Hybrid adds a full MagSafe-style magnet ring and builds a kickstand into the camera surround. If you’re an Ultra owner who wants magnetic accessories, it’s the most practical clear case going.

Version reviewed: ESR Classic Hybrid Magnetic Case (Stash Stand) for Galaxy S26 Ultra, Clear · ASIN B0G11LNNFT · Amazon US listing · ESR lists this ASIN as the product’s SKU

One-sentence verdict: The case that turns a Galaxy S26 Ultra into a proper magnetic phone, with a stand that hides in the camera frame; the stand stops just short of upright, so portrait use is less steady than landscape.

Pros and cons

Pros
  • ✓Adds a 1,500 g magnet ring, so MagSafe and Qi2 accessories snap on properly.
  • ✓The zinc-alloy stand is part of the camera guard and folds flat when you don’t need it.
  • ✓Slim for a case with a stand, with a 1.5 mm back that keeps wireless charging efficient.
  • ✓The clear acrylic back resists scratches, and there are raised lips around the screen and lenses.
  • ✓Grippier sides help on the S26 Ultra’s slippery aluminium frame.
Cons
  • ✗The stand opens to about 85°, not 90°, so portrait mode is less stable.
  • ✗The clear back picks up fingerprints and smudges.
  • ✗The magnets are strong on accessories but weaker on plain metal surfaces.
  • ✗Some owners find the camera lip on the thin side.

The review

Design and build quality

It’s ESR’s familiar hybrid build, with a hard clear acrylic back, shock-absorbing edges and thicker Air Guard corners. The camera is where it differs.

A zinc-alloy frame surrounds the S26 Ultra’s lens array and doubles as a kickstand, then folds back flat so you’d barely know it’s there. Inside the back sits the magnet ring Samsung left out of the phone.

In the hand, it feels like a slim clear case. iPhone in Canada’s reviewer picked out how comfortable it is, noting that the S26 Ultra’s bare aluminium body is slippery and this case helps.

Setup and ease of use

It snaps on in one piece, the buttons are easy to press and the cutouts line up.

From the camera frame, the stand swings out and holds anywhere from 15° to roughly 85°. Landscape? Rock steady for video. Portrait works too, but because the stand doesn’t quite reach upright, the phone can tip back on a hard surface.

Performance

Magnets are the main reason to buy it. With the ring built in, the S26 Ultra snaps onto MagSafe chargers, magnetic car mounts and wallets the way an iPhone does, and owners say it stays put on magnetic car chargers. ESR says the 1.5 mm back allows full-speed 25W Qi2 charging.

One owner found the hold weaker when sticking the phone to plain metal surfaces. Expected. The ring is tuned for accessories, not fridges.

As protection, it’s an everyday case. ESR rates it for 16-ft drops, the corners are reinforced, and the raised lips guard the screen and the big camera bump, but it isn’t rugged, and one owner would have liked the camera lip to be taller.

Durability and warranty

The stand hinge is rated for 3,000+ uses, and zinc alloy keeps looking new for longer than plastic would. It’s been on sale since at least March 2026, which is long enough for owners to report several months of trouble-free use, although one unit did arrive with a fit defect. ESR gives you a 12-month protection plan, and registering stretches it to 24 months.

Price and value

At $24.99, it costs more than a basic clear case, but a basic case won’t give your Galaxy magnets or a stand, and those are the two things most people buying this are actually after. Buy a magnet ring and a ring stand separately and you’d pay about the same, and it would look worse. For an S26 Ultra owner who uses magnetic accessories, that’s good value.

Want magnetic accessories and a stand on your S26 Ultra? The Classic Hybrid is the best balance of slim and useful. Pick Spigen’s Tough Armor MagFit or ESR’s own Cyber Tough if you need more drop protection, and TORRAS’s Q3 Spin if you’d actually use a ring grip.

Who should buy it?

Buy it if
  • ✓You want to use MagSafe chargers, wallets or car mounts with your S26 Ultra.
  • ✓You watch videos with the phone propped up.
  • ✓You like the look of the phone and want a clear case.
Skip it if
  • ✗You mostly prop the phone up in portrait.
  • ✗You want rugged protection.
  • ✗Fingerprints on a clear back bother you.

Final verdict: is the ESR Classic Hybrid with Stash Stand (S26 Ultra) worth it?

For most S26 Ultra owners, this is where we’d start. Simple reason. It fixes the phone’s missing magnets, adds a stand that hides in the camera frame, and stays slim enough that you forget it’s on. A very good everyday clear case.

The stand angle is the reservation. Because it stops at roughly 85°, portrait viewing isn’t as steady as it should be, so if that matters to you, try it early while you can still send it back.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. The S26 Ultra supports Qi2 charging but has no built-in magnet ring, so a magnetic case like this one is what holds it on MagSafe chargers, wallets and car mounts.

No. It’s cut for the S26 Ultra only, and ESR sells separate versions for the other models.

It works, but it stops at roughly 85°, so the phone sits less steadily in portrait than in landscape.
