Belkin BoostCharge Pro 45W Dual USB-C Charger Review: Two Ports, a Cable and Fold-Away Prongs

4.3 · Would Buy
TINY TECH BOX SCORE

Plenty of chargers put out 45W. Fewer of them give you a second port, prongs that fold flat for a bag and a cable in the box as well.

Belkin’s BoostCharge Pro is trying to be the one charger you pack for a trip, covering your phone and your earbuds from a single outlet. Mostly, it does.

One-sentence verdict: Buy it if you want a compact two-port GaN charger with fold-away prongs and a cable in the box; just know that using both ports drops them to 25W and 20W.

Pros and cons

Pros
  • ✓Two USB-C ports in a body barely bigger than a single-port brick, so a phone and earbuds charge from one plug.
  • ✓The prongs fold away, which makes it pocketable and stops it snagging on everything in your bag.
  • ✓A USB-C cable comes in the box.
  • ✓PD 3.0 with PPS, so Samsung Super Fast Charging, iPhones and Pixels all fast-charge from the 45W single-port mode.
Cons
  • ✗With both ports in use, output splits to 25W and 20W, so two demanding devices can’t both charge at full speed.
  • ✗45W total makes this a phone-and-accessory charger, not a laptop charger.
  • ✗Only a few hundred ratings so far, which is a much thinner record than the Anker or UGREEN options have.
  • ✗White is the only colour on this listing, and it shows dirt over time.

The review

Design and build quality

It’s a compact white GaN brick with both USB-C ports on the bottom edge and metal prongs that fold flush into the body. It feels solid. The prongs click firmly into place when you fold them out, and the whole thing is only slightly larger than a single-port charger. Packed in a bag it takes up about as much room as a coiled cable, and with the prongs folded away there’s nothing sticking out to snag on the lining or catch on a zip while you dig around for it.

Setup and ease of use

Fold out the prongs, plug in the cable and you’re charging.

A Samsung phone gets PPS and an iPhone gets full USB-C PD speed, without you doing anything. Plug in a second device and the charger rebalances itself to 25W and 20W, which is plenty for a phone plus earbuds, or for two phones charging at a moderate pace overnight in a hotel room.

Performance

On a single port you get the full 45W with PPS, which is enough to fast-charge any current phone and keep a MacBook Air running.

The two-port split is what you’ll actually live with on the road. Twenty-five watts on the top port is still fast for a phone, and the 20W bottom port handles earbuds, a watch charger or a second phone at a slower rate. It stays cool under load. Belkin also adds a connected-equipment guarantee, which is a nice bit of extra reassurance on something you leave plugged in.

Durability and warranty

Belkin chargers have a good reliability record. This one feels built to match. The 4.8-star rating is excellent, but it comes from a few hundred ratings rather than thousands, so we’d call the long-term picture provisional for now. Retailer listings for the BoostCharge Pro 45W dual charger show a two-year limited warranty, and Belkin offers connected-equipment coverage on some of its chargers; the card in the box has the terms for your unit.

Price and value

At $19.99, a dual-port 45W GaN charger with folding prongs and a cable included is very fairly priced. It costs less than Samsung’s single-port EP-T4510 and about the same as the UGREEN Nexode 45W.

Easy call, then. You get a second port and a cable, both things the cheaper single-port bricks make you pay extra for. The only reason to look elsewhere is if you need two devices charging at full speed at the same time, and no 45W charger can do that.

It’s close. Between this and the UGREEN Nexode 45W, Belkin gives you the cable and the folding prongs, while UGREEN has a far longer review history, and either one is a good buy. If what you really need is a charger in two different rooms, get the Anker two-pack instead.

Who should buy it?

Buy it if
  • ✓You travel and want one charger for your phone and a second small device.
  • ✓You want folding prongs and a cable in the box.
  • ✓Belkin’s connected-equipment guarantee matters to you.
Skip it if
  • ✗You need two devices charging at full speed at once.
  • ✗You want a charger that can power a laptop properly.
  • ✗You’d rather buy something with a long review history. The UGREEN has one.

Final verdict

This is a well-judged travel charger. Two ports, folding prongs and a cable for $19.99 is a good package, and on one port it fast-charges any current phone or keeps a MacBook Air going. The early 4.8-star rating points the right way, even if the sample is still small.

The limits are the ones every 45W two-port charger shares, because there’s only so much power to go round: plug in two devices and they drop to 25W and 20W, and there’s no headroom left over for anything bigger than a MacBook Air. Inside those limits, it’s one of the easiest chargers we cover to recommend, especially if you’d like the cable included.

Yes, there’s a USB-C to USB-C cable in the box, so you can use it straight away.

Yes. It supports PD 3.0 with PPS, which covers Samsung Super Fast Charging in the single-port 45W mode.

It’ll run a light USB-C laptop like a MacBook Air from one port at up to 45W, but it isn’t meant for bigger laptops.

Not on this listing, which is white only, and white plastic can pick up grime over time.
