Belkin BoostCharge 240W USB-C Cable (2-Pack, 6.6 ft) Review: Built for Charging, Not for Data

3.6 · Would Buy
TINY TECH BOX SCORE

Two long, braided, certified charging cables in one box. That’s Belkin’s BoostCharge 240W pack.

The 240W rating means a cable will never be the thing slowing down your phone, tablet or laptop. Read the small print, though. Data runs at USB 2.0 speed and there’s no video at all, so these belong plugged into the charger by your bed or desk, not into the dock where your monitor and drives live.

One-sentence verdict: Good, certified 240W charging cables at a useful length, with a strong durability claim and a 2-year warranty; data tops out at 480Mbps, and the INIU and Anker two-packs cost less.

Pros and cons

Pros
  • ✓Rated for 240W, so any phone, tablet or laptop charges at full speed.
  • ✓USB-IF certified.
  • ✓6.6 ft (2 m) really is a useful length, from the wall to the bed or across a desk.
  • ✓Belkin rates the braid for 100,000 bends and 20,000 plug-ins.
  • ✓Two cables in the pack, plus a 2-year warranty.
Cons
  • ✗USB 2.0 data at 480Mbps: slow for files, and no video.
  • ✗Costs more than rival 240W two-packs.
  • ✗Owner feedback on reliability and device compatibility is mixed.

The review

Design and build quality

Braided nylon with firm connector heads, soft enough to coil up without a fight. At 2 m, they reach from a low outlet up to a nightstand or across most desks.

Belkin claims 100,000 bends and 20,000 plug-ins. That’s the company’s own number, but it does put a 2-year warranty behind it.

Setup and ease of use

Nothing to set up. USB-C on both ends means they work with iPhone 15 and later, Android phones, iPads, MacBooks and USB-C chargers, and they’re fine for wired CarPlay and Android Auto too, since those only need USB 2.0 speed.

Performance

240W is the cable’s ceiling, not the speed you’ll get, because the charger and the device between them decide that, and an iPhone takes about 30W while a 16-inch MacBook Pro can take up to 140W. Either way, the cable is not the bottleneck.

Data is a different story. At USB 2.0 (480Mbps), copying photos to a computer works but drags, an external SSD crawls, and a USB-C monitor won’t light up at all. For those jobs you’ll want a 10Gbps or Thunderbolt cable.

Durability and warranty

Belkin covers them for two years. The braid and strain relief look properly made, and the rating has held at 4.6 across about 1,100 ratings. You’ll see complaints about reliability and device compatibility, so they aren’t flawless, but nothing repeats often enough to be worth warning you about.

Price and value

At $22.99 for two, they cost more than the INIU and Anker 240W two-packs we cover. The difference buys you Belkin’s warranty and the bigger bend rating, which is a reasonable trade but not a bargain.

For pure value, Anker’s 240W two-pack gets you the same charging ceiling for less money, so the Belkin only earns its premium if the bend rating and the warranty matter a lot to you. None of them do video.

Who should buy it?

Buy it if
  • ✓You want long, sturdy charging cables for a phone and a laptop.
  • ✓You want USB-IF certification and a 2-year warranty.
  • ✓You need two cables, say one for the bed and one for the desk.
Skip it if
  • ✗You need to connect a monitor or a fast SSD.
  • ✗You just want the cheapest decent 240W cable.
  • ✗You’re still on a Lightning iPhone.

Final verdict: is the Belkin 240W USB-C Cable (2-Pack, 2 m) worth it?

These are good charging cables: long enough to be useful, rated well past anything you’ll plug in, certified, and backed by a real warranty. One by the bed for the phone and one at the desk for the laptop, and you’re sorted.

Just know their limits. With USB 2.0 data, they’re the wrong cable for drives and displays, and Anker and INIU sell the same charging ceiling for less.
