1. Free same-day delivery you will actually notice

Amazon lists more than 300 million items with free Prime shipping, free same-day delivery on qualifying orders over $25 in eligible areas, and one- and two-hour grocery delivery from Whole Foods Market and Amazon Fresh. In selected cities, Amazon Now drops everyday essentials at your door in roughly 30 minutes.

2. Grubhub+, Alexa+ and more subscriptions, already paid for

Amazon Photos gives unlimited full-resolution photo storage plus 5GB for video, Amazon Music covers more than 100 million songs in shuffle mode with ad-free podcasts, and Prime Gaming hands over a rotating set of games plus a monthly Twitch channel subscription.

Do the maths and the bundle outruns the fee fast: Alexa+ alone would cost $239.88 a year, and Grubhub+ is worth $120. Use just two of these regularly and the membership has paid for itself.

Prime members save $0.10 a gallon at more than 7,500 bp, Amoco, ampm and Thorntons stations. Amazon puts that near $70 a year for a typical driver — half the membership, from filling up the car.

On the health side, RxPass costs $5 a month for unlimited eligible generic medications delivered to your door, prescription savings run up to 80% at roughly 60,000 pharmacies including Walgreens and CVS, and One Medical membership drops to $9 a month or $99 a year.

What changed for Amazon Prime in 2026

The price of Prime did not move. What did: on April 10, 2026, Amazon renamed the ad-free Prime Video add-on to Prime Video Ultra and raised it from $2.99 to $4.99 a month. 4K/UHD streaming moved to that tier at the same time, so the Prime Video included with a standard membership now plays in HD up to 1080p, with ads. Ultra adds five concurrent streams and 100 offline downloads.

For most people that changes nothing — Prime Video is still included. If you want ad-free 4K on a big TV, budget the extra $4.99 a month and you are set.
