Inside, there’s a rigid shell. Around it sits a synthetic-rubber slipcover, with thick corners, raised rails around the screen and camera, and texture on every surface.
It feels like a tool. Everything about it is designed to take an impact and spread it out, and if you spend your time outdoors or on a site, the covered charging port is a real plus. The cost is obvious as soon as you pick it up: it’s chunky and heavy, and it turns an already large phone into a brick.
Fitting it takes two steps. First you clip the phone into the hard shell, then you work the rubber slipcover over the whole thing, which takes a minute and some thumb pressure. Taking it off is the reverse, and just as fiddly, so this isn’t a case you’ll swap on and off casually.
