Anker USB-C Hub 7-in-1 (A83D2)

Anker’s Prime dock is two products in one box: a 14-port USB-C dock and a 160W GaN charging station. It powers your laptop and charges a phone and tablet at full speed while running two monitors. The catch is in the small print about macOS.

One-sentence verdict: A strong desk hub that doubles as a 160W charging station, which makes it a great fit for Windows laptops. Mac users get mirrored, not extended, displays, and some buyers report early failures.

It’s a compact block for a 14-port dock, about 140 × 97 × 47 mm and 888 g, with the GaN power supply built in. That means a fixed power cord but no brick on the floor. The shell is plastic, which reviewers flagged as less premium than aluminium docks. Ports are split sensibly, with the charging ports up front and the display, network and data ports behind.
Connect the included 3.3 ft USB-C cable to your laptop and it works with no drivers, because it uses DP Alt Mode, not DisplayLink. On Windows, two monitors extend as you’d expect. On a Mac, Anker states that both external monitors show the same image. That’s a macOS limitation with this kind of dock, not a fault, but it rules it out for most dual-monitor Mac desks. Anker says Linux isn’t supported.
Charging is the highlight. Digital Camera World measured about 89W into the laptop from the upstream port and 82W from a front USB-C port, which is close enough to the 100W rating for real use. Total output is 160W shared across all charging ports.
Data runs at 10Gbps on the fast ports. On displays, the HDMI ports are HDMI 2.0, but with two screens attached Anker’s own listing caps them at 2K 60Hz on DP 1.4 laptops or 1080p 60Hz on DP 1.2 laptops. Some reviewers describe it as dual 4K. Go by Anker’s listing, and don’t plan on two 4K screens. It doesn’t support 5120 × 1440 super-ultrawide monitors.

Anker covers it for 24 months. The Amazon rating is 4.3 across about 700 ratings. The mixed feedback centres on monitor connections and reliability, and includes some early failures. It’s not a red flag at this volume, but it’s more than we’d like on a dock this price.
At $159.99 it’s well below its launch price, and Tech Advisor gave it an Editors’ Choice. Replacing a dock and a 160W multi-port charger separately would cost more. That makes it a good deal on Windows, and a harder sell if you’re on a Mac and wanted two extended screens.

| Product | Best for | Key advantage | Main drawback | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Anker Prime Docking Station 14-in-1 (this review) | Windows laptop desks that want two monitors, Ethernet and fast device charging | 160W total, with two front USB-C ports at up to 100W each, so it doubles as a charging station | On macOS, both external monitors show the same image (mirror only) | $159.99 |
| Belkin Connect Thunderbolt 4 Dock (INC030) | Mac or Thunderbolt desks | 40Gbps; up to two extended displays on supported Macs | Pricier; thin buyer history | See price on Amazon |
| Anker USB-C Hub 7-in-1 (A83D2) | Travel / single monitor | 4K60 HDMI and card slots, tiny and cheap | One display, 5Gbps | $25.99 |
| Belkin Connect 4-Port USB-C Hub | USB-C storage | Four 10Gbps ports, tiny | No video | $30.99 |
On Windows, the Anker Prime is the better value dock. On a Mac that needs two extended screens, look at a Thunderbolt dock like Belkin’s INC030, which we haven’t scored yet. For one monitor on the move, Anker’s 7-in-1 hub is all you need. Prices are live Amazon figures.
For a Windows laptop desk, this is an easy recommendation. One cable gets you two monitors, Ethernet, fast data and a 160W charging hub that keeps your phone and tablet topped up. It replaces a dock and a charger at a price lower than buying both.
The Mac caveat is a big one. Two screens mirror on macOS, dual-screen resolution is capped at 2K, and reliability feedback is mixed. Mac owners should look at Thunderbolt docks instead.
