It’s a smooth-sided plastic brick, lighter than it looks, with two braided cables running along the body and clipping into place. Pull both out and they form a carry strap.
The body feels sturdy, and the cables are the reinforced kind Anker rates for thousands of bends. This is clearly a bag battery, too big and heavy for a pocket.
Unclip a cable. Plug it in. Press the button. The built-in USB-C handles 45W, and the built-in Lightning handles an older iPhone or an AirPods case. There’s also a spare USB-C port and a USB-A port for a second or third device.
Charge one device and the Zolo delivers. You get the full 45W to a phone or a light laptop, and 20,000mAh means roughly four phone charges before it needs a refill.
Charging several devices is its weak spot. Plug in a second one and the total drops to about 15W, split further between the outputs, so it’s quick for one thing at a time and the wrong bank if you need to charge a phone and a laptop together on a long train journey.
