What we collect when you visit tinytechbox.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Last updated September 26, 2026.

Who we are

Tiny Tech Box runs tinytechbox.com, a site that reviews and compares phone accessories. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Tiny Tech Box. If you have a question about your data, email hello@tinytechbox.com.

The short version

  • You don’t need an account to use this site, and we don’t sell anything here directly.
  • We use Google Analytics to see which pages are useful.
  • We show ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to show and measure those ads.
  • We earn commissions through affiliate links to Amazon and TORRAS. When you click one, that retailer knows you came from us.
  • If you visit from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you choose how your data is used for advertising.
  • We don’t sell your personal information for money.

Information we collect

When you browse. Like almost every website, our server receives your IP address, your browser and device type, the page you asked for, the page that linked you here and the time of your visit. Our host, Hostinger, keeps these server logs to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.

Analytics. Google Analytics tells us which pages people read, roughly where visitors are (country and city, never your address), what device they use, how they found us and which product buttons get clicked. We use it to decide what to review and what to update. We don’t combine it with anything that identifies you by name.

Comments. If you comment on a news post, we collect the name, email address and optional website you enter, your comment, and your IP address and browser details to help catch spam. Your email address is never published. WordPress may send a scrambled version of your email address (a hash) to the Gravatar service to check whether you have a profile picture. Gravatar’s privacy policy is at automattic.com/privacy.

When you email us. We keep your email address and message so we can reply.

We never ask for payment details or passwords, and we don’t collect your precise location.

Cookies we use

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. These are set when you visit tinytechbox.com:

  • _ga and _ga_J2YR2DXYT0 (Google Analytics): tell one visit from another so we can count visitors. Kept for up to 13 months.
  • Google advertising cookies, such as __gads, __gpi, IDE and test_cookie (Google AdSense): show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure ads, prevent fraud and, where you allow it, personalise ads. Kept for up to 2 years, or 13 months in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland.
  • Consent cookies (Google’s consent message): remember the choice you made. EEA, UK and Switzerland only. Kept for up to 13 months.

Retailers such as Amazon may set their own cookies after you click through to them. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site will still work.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this site or other websites. Google’s advertising cookies let Google and its partners show you ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You can turn off personalised ads in Google’s Ads Settings. You can also opt out of personalised ads from many other companies at aboutads.info, or at youronlinechoices.eu in Europe. You’ll still see ads, but they won’t be based on your interests. To learn more, read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Affiliate links

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy something after clicking one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate, Tiny Tech Box earns from qualifying purchases. We also earn from TORRAS purchases through the impact.com partner network.

When you click an affiliate link, the retailer or network records that your visit came from us, usually with a cookie. Third parties, including Amazon, may provide content and advertising on this site, collect information directly from visitors, and place or read cookies in your browser. We only receive reports of orders and commissions. We never see your name, address or payment details.

Your choice in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, you’ll see a consent message from Google. Google’s consent tool is certified under the IAB Europe Transparency & Consent Framework. Choose Consent to allow personalised ads, or Manage options to pick exactly what you allow, including turning everything off. You can change your choice at any time with the Privacy and cookie settings link on the site.

If you don’t consent, Google may still show ads that aren’t personalised. Some cookies may still be used to limit repeat ads and prevent fraud.

Why we use your information

If you’re covered by the GDPR or the UK GDPR, we rely on:

  • Your consent for advertising cookies and personalised ads. You can withdraw it at any time.
  • Our legitimate interests for running and securing the site, understanding which pages are useful, moderating comments and replying to your emails.

Who else handles your data

  • Hostinger hosts the site and runs its content delivery network.
  • Google provides Analytics, AdSense, the consent message and web fonts. Loading the fonts sends your IP address to Google.
  • Amazon and impact.com (for TORRAS) run our affiliate programs.
  • Automattic runs Gravatar, which shows profile pictures next to comments.

Our links to Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest are plain links. Those sites only get data from you if you click through, and their own privacy policies apply there.

Some of these companies process data outside your country, including in the United States. They protect it with legal safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep it

  • Google Analytics data: no longer than 14 months.
  • Server logs: only as long as Hostinger keeps them for security.
  • Comments: for as long as the post is online, unless you ask us to remove yours.
  • Emails: for as long as we need them to deal with your message.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, to limit or object to how we use it, or to send you a copy. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email hello@tinytechbox.com and we’ll reply within 30 days.

If you’re in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you can also complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK, that’s the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Some US state laws treat advertising cookies as “selling” or “sharing” personal information for targeted ads. To opt out, turn off personalised ads in Google’s Ads Settings or block third-party cookies in your browser.

Children

This site isn’t meant for children under 13 (under 16 in the EEA), and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information. If you think a child has sent us personal data, email us and we’ll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we’ll update this page and the “Last updated” date at the top.
